205/45/17 tyres anyone?

12

Does anyone know if possible to fit 205 instead of 195?

Looks like michelin is phasing out the ps4 and new ps5 starts at 205

Oh dear. So if your running a set of 195/45/17 ps4's and you need to replace one of the tyres. You will need to get a different tyre. Not ideal.

for now managed to get away with a puncture repair...
really hope this is just a supply issue and they will produce 195 as well. (it's an unusual size anyway )

Getting a pair of 195 PS4 fitted tomorrow, are you sure they're phasing them out? They're still shown on Michelin's web page.

not sure to be honest. it just suddenly went out of stock where I was looking.
than I googled it and saw the PS5 is coming ... so I assumed it's going to be replaced with PS5

You can still buy Pilot Sport 2 and 3 in varying sizes so we might be ok 🙂

I don't know what the laws are in the UK, but here in Australia a tyre can only be 15mm bigger than the stock diameter. Yes, a 205/45R17 fits, I can say that with confidence. Not sure about legal implications though

Some say you should not move from stock sizes for ride/handling/noise reasons. Have you any comments about this?

I've had 205/45/17 on my 2013 it's whole life, so definitely doable. Does it affect the ride quality? Can't say since I've never had anything else.
