tapping\knocking rear left + other issues
Quote from Liz Haynes on February 5, 2024, 9:54 pmHi Donger,
'Didn't recollect the issue' You have got to be joking!
After getting no where with the after sales guy, I said I wanted to return the car and things got escalated to the manager Stuart Bromley who actually was very good.
I contacted him recently as I wanted to pass on info about what they did to my car. I told him about others experiencing similar problems. Excerpt from the email I sent him:
'When I first had problems with the car, I went on a Suzuki Swift Sport club website and have now a small following of people with what sounds like exactly the same problem as mine. One guy, while his car was being looked at, was given a new 23 plate sport with only 53 miles on as his courtesy car and it had a tap. None of these people have had their problems solved. Was it the strut I had replaced? I can’t remember. I wanted to feed back and let them know what I had done to solve the problem. I have also suggested they get their garages to call you to get some advice! Hope that is ok!'
What they did, did fix mine although it has now started on the right.
So frustrating when it doesn't make a noise and you've got someone in the car listening for it! Everything changed for me when this Stuart Bromley heard mine and got involved. My reg is NX22NBB if that is any help to you.

Quote from Donger on February 7, 2024, 1:27 amHi Liz, thank you for your reply. I shall pass on the information to my local dealer.
My car is surprisingly still knocking much less, and has been for a few days. I'm not sure what happened. I'm expecting it to return though, because I'm a pessimistic so and so now regarding this car.

I’m taking the car to Sims again this Friday. I managed to capture the noises very clearly on a video (which I will upload somewhere and share here too) to show them. I’ll let you know how I get on afterwards!

Thanks all.

Quote from Ben Yates on February 20, 2024, 10:09 amHi all. Just adding my name on this list with the same problem. Mine is from NSF. I have contacted Suzuki customer service, to which they have fed me the usual rubbish (working in the industry helps dramatically). My case has been escalated to management level. The regional aftersales manager is going to take a look at my car this Thursday at Acorn Suzuki Crewe. I will report back later in the week, hopefully with good news!
99.9% sure this is a shocker issue.

Quote from Joe Randall on February 21, 2024, 5:21 pmHi Ben! Let us know how you get on.
If it helps at all to know. I had my 2022 car at Sims and they replaced the passenger side front strut (spring, shock, the lot). They put a part from a 2020 car on, which did solve the issue on that side. It made me wonder if there was a bad batch of shocks go on these cars. Anyway, since then I got back in touch with Sims to organise getting the other side replaced too as it (very infrequently) also made the same noise.
I’ve just got the car back from having two brand new shocks put on the front. Not sure if it’s solved the issue or not as the drive back to my house is so short. But if the issue persists I’ll let you all know.
I’ll give Sims their due credit, they are a really good after sales team and will look into issues and try solutions until they’ve solved the problem.

Quote from Lachlan Lynch on February 22, 2024, 12:36 pmHi all, great vid Joe. That’s exactly the noise I get aswell but from all 4 corners. Just an update on mine, I’m hopefully getting my strut tops replaced soon to try and solve the noise however I doubt this will make a difference but they are currently on back order lol. On the 27th I also have an appointment with my regional Suzuki manager so I will give an update then on what he’s said

Quote from Joe Randall on March 8, 2024, 3:32 pmHi all,
Any luck solving the issue? I’ve been driving the car for a few weeks with the new shocks and the noise has returned today, sadly. Exactly the same noise as before. I’ve got it booked back in with the dealership, so anything I can give them to help identify the issue, much appreciated!

Quote from Donger on March 9, 2024, 5:41 amOh dear. I was hoping new shocks would be the remedy, and was waiting for feedback.
My local dealer has contacted the Area Manager to ask if they can swap all four shocks with a donor car (and claim back the time / labour).
